What is this list?

Friends have decided to create a list of forty things to do before I turn forty in September. I've decided to play along and try to complete the list before my birthday. I'm lucky that Jennie will also play along and help me complete this list.

I've decided not to post the list on the blog. Why not? Revealing the list would be similar to reading the book before going to see the movie. In most cases disappointing. Also, the likely followers of this blog already know the content of the list.
(Update: A few people said that the list should be online so that they could volunteer/sign up for some of these activities)

For the purpose of this blog, I've decided to call them "task". Most of them can be completed locally and without advance planning. I also plan to drag in the creators of the list into accomplishing some of the tasks with me.

The list:

25. Homebrew some beer/wine

The apartment is too small to home brew beer or wine.  I have done it in the past and it takes room.
So I took the easy way out and purchase a bottle of "The Big Easy" Bottle Brew.
You simply drop the yeast pill in, and wait about 10 days to enjoy the fruit of your labor.  Not bad for 5$

1. Try all 31 Baskin Robbins flavours

"Based on the original idea of 31 flavors, one for each day of the month, Baskin-Robbins has become the largest chain of ice cream shops in the world."

The Baskin Robin shops do not carry all 31 flavors of ice cream.  One store only had 12, but the St-Laurent store had 26 flavors.  I explained my dilemma and she offered set the 6 flavors per tub plus two in the little one, for a total of 26.

We consumed a good amount of ice cream during the party (more on that later) and the rest, will be consumed this week.  Ice cream = Workout recovery treat

36. Go to the Ex (fair)

The Ottawa Ex might be shutdown down for the year, but the Carp fair was in full swing last night.

Carp Fair

Greasy food and long line ups were part of the fun.  Funny how most people with me last night can't do ride because they get sick (same with me)

We kept to the games and contemplated the Ferris wheel and the bumper cars, but the 30 minute line up and the chance of rain got the better of us.

The strong man challenge was way harder than I expected.  I only won this ugly purple wanna be inflatable M&M.

17. Gamble on 13 (roulette)

The Hull, I mean the Gatineau Casino is celebrating 15 years this year.

13 is black and I put all of my money on it. The payout is 35 to 1.  So my 10$ could return 350$$$$

The odds were against me and I lost .

Jennie took a couple of pictures, but apparently, you are not supposed to take picture in the Casino.

13. Ride the bull at the Crazy Horse

Another fun night out!  This time, at the Crazy Horse all the way in Kanata.  The perfect place for hi-tech executives to blow off some steam.  The perfect place to digest three pounds of beef from the night before.



Riding the bull was harder than I expected.  You keep slipping side to side, front to back and only have that the rope to pull you back up.



It's pretty hard on your hand.
